It was via music, not motion, that Julie Benko and Jason Yeager first launched themselves as a married couple to their 107 pals and members of the family. After their June 5 ceremony in New York’s Hudson Valley, the bride and groom carried out “Always,” a music Ms. Benko wrote for Mr. Yeager in the first few months they had been relationship. The ceremony, at FEAST at Round Hill in Washingtonville, N.Y., was officiated by Ms. Benko’s uncle, Rabbi Eric Polokoff. Afterward, in a nod to the metropolis of New Orleans, the assembled group paraded round the venue’s property behind Gotham Kings, a jazz band led by the trumpeter Alphonso Horne. “We loved the music from New Orleans, you know like Professor Longhair, Dr. John, and all this kind of second line brass band music,” Mr. Yeager stated.
For the couple and their friends, experiencing music in particular person once more was an excellent pleasure. “A lot of people were saying how healing it was to get to hear such amazing live music,” Ms. Benko stated. “It was really cathartic.”
